Assistant Coordinator (Housing After Hours)

Desired Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in social work, social justice, Indigenous studies, addictions, health related and/or a combination of pertinent experiences in these areas. Experiences with cultural activities and understanding of indigenous concepts of care and support. Knowledge of disabilities, disorders and mental health issues. Driver’s License and access to transportation. Applicants must have MPI 2 million liability insurance.

 

Job Responsibilities:

The Assistant Coordinator supports housing operations by coordinating resources, assisting staff, and ensuring participant needs are met in alignment with support plans and program standards. This role requires on-site support across multiple residences to assist staff and participants. Working Hours are Wednesday – Sunday – 4:00pm – 12:00am

  • Support implementation of participant support plans and act as an advocate for housing participants.
  • Assist with incident reporting (IRs) and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
  • Monitor and support staff interactions with participants, providing guidance and problem solving as needed.
  • Coordinate daily operations, including transportation requests, including to evening programming.
  • Support scheduling needs, including coordinating coverage for sick calls and staffing gaps.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address urgent operational or participant needs.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication across houses and team members.
  • Support medication self-administration protocols and provide guidance to staff as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding and training to community residence staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential participant and licensing records.
  • Ensure homes meet Residential Care Licensing (RCL) standards, including maintenance and inspection readiness.
  • Follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure smooth shift transitions and continuity of care.
  • Other duties as assigned by the housing Coordinators and Program Manager

Additional Requirements: Criminal Record Check (With Vulnerable Sector Search), Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check. Driver license and access to transportation. Applicants must have MPI 2 million liability insurance.

Hourly Wage: $25.00-$29.00
